I discussed in the previous post things you should start doing if you want to get in shape. 

Today let’s talk about THE TOP FOODS TO AVOID when fighting stubborn belly fat:

🚫REFINED BREAD – research shows that people who ate more refined and processed foods, such as white bread and white rice, had more belly fat. Instead choose COMPLEX CARBS that are fiber-rich, unprocessed foods such as fruit, vegetables and legumes.  

🚫POTATOES 🥔😱- in any form, according to research published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2011. That includes the obvious culprits – potato chips, fried hash browns, french fries 🍟- along with “healthier” options like baked potatoes.Try a sweet potato instead of a regular potato or mashed turnips instead of mashed potatoes. 

🚫Processed meats, red meat (specially pork). Opt for sliced grilled tofu, tempeh, turkey, chicken or fish instead of processed meat. 

🚫Steer clear of sugary beverages, which includes sodas, fruity cocktails and other sugar-sweetened drinks, such as lemonade. Instead drink water 💧 steeped with sliced fruit or chopped herbs for flavor.  

🚫If a person drinks a lot of COFFEE ☕️ or is under a lot of stress, then there is constant level of cortisol floating in the body. Cortisol causes weight gain, specifically in the belly area, for several reasons. First, digestion is slowed down. Second, the body increases insulin levels. Try to get down to one or two cups, or switch to a decaf. See if that works for you.
